Some notes...

Travelling in Paris
beware of pickpockets
buy entrance tickets online to avoid long queue, e.g. Eiffel Tower
check out some museums (i'll look for free entrance, hehe)
pay a day visit to Marseille
be alert to Gypsies approaching you

A 2/3 days detour to Belgium?
chocolate and mussels strongly recommended

Italy
beware of pickpockets etc.
too many places to visit (why not save it for the next trip?)
definitely pick Rome if you insist to visit Italy :)
be careful on your belongings (repeat) (sounds like the country is not too safe ehh?)

London
a  must: Phantom of The Opera
another must: Full English Breakfast (errrrmm, is there a not so meaty one?)

before my memory fades, i need to jot it down here. it's about time to plan my route and make arrangements!

See you in March next year!

A good cause initiated by Edu-Cat Malaysia. This event received very well response that the goodies and even rubber hand gloves were finished giving out before I could get any! One nice experience I have got from the past Saturday, many NGOs had collaborated to work this project out. Hope more green initiatives to be carried out and practiced in Malaysia especially by the locals! One of the feedback I can tell is we locals have long way to educate and increase the awareness of effective waste management and being more environmentally concerned! :) More to elaborate soon!

my dear friend

i wish you had the courage to stand for yourself
i wish you understood that friends around are worried about you
i wish you realised that your sisters are always on your side
i wish you knew no one would care for you more than yourself do
i wish you would take a step and make a change for yourself like, NOW.

i don't want to know you work 24/7 everytime we call you out
i don't want to know you stay back for work or meeting until midnight everytime we check if you are doing well
i don't want to know you get into accident because you are too exhausted after work

please,
take good care of yourself
love your body and health more
for,
your loving parents and siblings
your concerned sisters like me and c.

if your employer loves you and appreciates you,
she would not put you in such a high risk and unreasonable situation.
bear in mind we are all ladies,
shouldn't she be concerned on your safety too?

of course i understand,
we are now in the peak of building up our career
hope you can realise,
there are so many perspectives in life that we should not miss too.

love you,
schyi

The Soup Kitchen

There is a saying...
You can't satisfy a person with money,
You can't satisfy a person with lots of materials,
But with one thing, you can see a person smiles truly with satisfaction...
Food.

Yes, it's food. No doubt food can bring joy to anyone including animal.

Food,
feeds one's stomach
Gives one's energy
Keeps one's warm
Calms one's emotion
Continues one's life

Not only that, Food
Connects individuals to share joy and sorrow

Between the cook and consumers,
To give and to receive
To share and to trust

There is a group of persistent and enthusiasts volunteers, never failed to bring joy to the poor all these years, cook and distribute packet rice to the needy on every Saturday in Sentul.

I went along with Suresh to volunteer ourselves for the past Saturdays, from cutting veggies to cooking and to food packing, nothing is difficult or impossible to complete. Yet the most impressive thing is, the persistency of these bunch of good people who initiated this activity and never gave up bringing hope and joy to the needy around.

If you think you can help, you can always opt for Donations or Voluntary Labour Work for the day :)
Donations in both kind and money are always welcomed!
Or feel free to show yourself up on Saturday around 9AM at Tamil Methodist Church Sentul* to help out and have fun!

*need direction to The Soup Kitchen? It is located along the main road of Sentul and just between the YTL development project & Sentul HGH Convention Hall.

Flo Lounge

Was invited to GM's cocktail at Flo Lounge, Hotel Equatorial KL on last Friday. Its main purpose is to introduce the pianist Tristano Soliano that performs Love Ballads and Jazz Hits, with free beverages and finger food provided to all guests. Of course I went there to check out the event, since it's free, and it's Jazz music! :)
It's started around 7pm, with a speech from the GM of Hotel Equatorial, Mr. Alan and followed by a few songs from Donne Ray Radford from The Platters. I wasn't so sure who Donne Ray is until he sang the classical oldies like Only You and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. Oh my, I couldn't believe that he is in front of me at that moment. I never imagine that I would meet such a great artist of oldies that I have been listening since young!!! Here's a video clip to give you an idea of who Donne Ray is (in case you are blur like me):

What more can I say? His voice is superb. The songs are good. Too bad this wasn't his performance. The pianist Tristano and his partner took over the show until the time we left. we feasted on wines and beers, wellington beef roll and quiches, strawberry puffs and macaroons.

Oh oh, One of the upcoming highlight at Equatorial is Donne Ray's Jamming Session at the same venue on 22 April! Be sure to check it out if you like his songs. Belanja and ajak me also lar if you want. Lol!

A Small Notice

Last Saturday morning I came across a SMS as below:
Ni ayah guna fon polis, tlong bgi credit maxis RM50 ke nombor bru ayah 0128103692 Ayah lgi ada msalah kat balai polis. Ta payah call. Sekejap bru ayah call. --- from +60178943978
Obviously, this is a scam.

(because my dad does not sms me usually, duh)

I am not sure if people will fall into this scam when they receive such SMS but I hope this small notice will help to remind people to read carefully and think twice when they come across with such notification via sms, email, or phone call, and make sure to stay calm and find out whether the content is true.
